Bechtle, the biggest IT provider in Europe, is looking for a talented and motivated junior employee with an interest in technology, for a special position between sales and project management: as a tender manager you are responsible for submitting important offers to big public institutions in Belgium, with each offer taking 6 weeks of preparation. You feel comfortable with technology (no dedicated IT knowledge needed) in a multi-lingual environment, and you are ready to learn on the job.
About the role.
- As a junior project manager (also known as tender manager, proposal manager or bid manager), you’ll be part of the ‘tender desk’ team at Bechtle.
- you are responsible for the preparation, coordination, and control of the entire tender process of IT related offers to public authorities
- public tenders are individual offers, and you take ownership of these tenders within an average project phase of six weeks for each
- you will be involved in price negotiations with IT manufacturers and partners, and you will be responsible for calculations
- you will be working in a team with colleagues from the local subsidiaries in Belgium, together with members from the tender team in the headquarter in Germany and our Pre-sales team
- you have the responsibility for the successful submission of tenders from the Bechtle group
About you.
- you have a bachelor or master’s degree or equivalent by experience
- You have native-level proficiency in French and an excellent command of English (both spoken and written). Good knowledge of Dutch is an extra asset.
- you possess assertiveness and negotiation skills
- you have an eye for details, and you like to work in a structured way
- ability to meet deadlines and working under pressure
- skill and interest in administrating and monitoring projects
- you focus on quality of the responses and an overall compliance with the requirements
- You’re not afraid to aim for success, but also know how to deal with setbacks.
