Cloud Business Development Manager

A Cloud Business Development Manager is a key member of the Bechtle UK Cloud Pillar, that sits within our Technical Pre-Sales function of Business Solutions and Services. Bechtle UK’s Cloud Practice is centred on Infrastructure and Platform as a Service (IaaS/PaaS) and brings together our private datacentre and public cloud offerings to deliver a truly hybrid and vendor agonistic approach to our customers.

 

The ideal candidate will have proven business development and sales experience, ideally combined with a technical background in cloud services and platforms. This role requires an individual who can understand complex cloud solutions and effectively communicate their value to potential clients, driving revenue growth and market expansion.

 

As a sales lead to the pillar, you will take responsibility in managing and developing our key Cloud vendors/partners/platforms. You will bring their solutions into our Account Managers and articulate how Bechtle can help customers meet the challenges of moving and managing a Cloud first environment, to ensure optimal efficiency and performance in a secure manner. You will support Account Managers and target new and existing customers and Bechtle will encourage and support you to develop the role in alignment with market changes/trends.

 

Job Role Responsibilities

  • Understand solution selling and continue building the strategy from traditional infrastructure to an increasing focus on cloud and hybrid environments, with templated offerings and services.
  • Support the general development of the Cloud team, ensuring all technical capability is actively promoted within the salesfloor
  • Take primary lead on Cloud pipeline and forecasting at an opportunity level, working with vendors, distributors and partners to maximise the profitability of the deal
  • Support the front-end marketing and process to create a fully managed Cloud service wrapper, delivered by Bechtle in-house
  • Proactively hunt new business within the sales teams and educate Account Managers on our key Cloud solutions
  • Produce sales playbooks, engagement processes etc. to help simplify and encourage Account Managers to utilise the Cloud team
  • Actively manage and update our Cloud portfolio – with focus on growing vendors such as Microsoft Azure, Bechtle UK Hosted VMware vCloud and Backup vendors such as Acronis & Veeam.
  • At a high-level, understand the breadth and depth of our key vendor product portfolios
  • Create and maintain customer relationships with key stakeholders
  • Create and maintain relationships with vendors, distributors and surrounding service partners
  • Build and work with marketing on focused Cloud campaigns/events
  • Assist with the process of claiming any relevant funding from aligned vendors#

Job Requirements

  • Actively identify and discuss Bechtle’s wider capabilities within customer meetings to upsell and cross-sell the full available portfolio
  • Desirable but not essential is the requirement to be able to conduct customer demonstrations/technical overview of products and services.
  • Desirable is an interest in expanding technical knowledge and experience.

 

Experience

 

  • Proven experience in business development or sales, with a specific focus on cloud computing technologies.
  • Strong understanding of cloud platforms (mainly Azure) and services (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS).
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams and with all levels of management.
  • Willingness to travel as required for client meetings and industry events.
