We are seeking a highly skilled Professional Services - Hybrid Infrastructure Engineer with a strong focus on security to join our Professional Services team. The role will involve design and implementation of solutions both on-premises and cloud-based. The ideal candidate will have in-depth experience and knowledge covering hybrid and cross platform environments, ensuring they meet industry security standards and best practices. A demonstratable knowledge covering process automation, system optimisation, and ensuring solutions are secure and scalable to meet customer requirements.
Job Role Responsibilities
- Design and deploy hybrid infrastructure solutions both on-premises and Private/Public cloud. Ensuring proposed solutions meet the required demands for today with scalability for future needs.
- Develop and enforce security best practices across all infrastructure layers, including network, storage, compute, virtualisation and cloud.
- Client Consultation and Security Assessment Engage with clients to understand their security requirements, business goals, and existing infrastructure shortcomings. Conduct security assessments and audits, including vulnerability scans, and compliance checks.
- Utilise Automation techniques through scripting (e.g., Bash, PowerShell, Python) to optimise deployment processes
- Collaborate with cross-functional BSST teams to architect secure, reliable, and scalable solutions.
- Deploy hybrid identity solutions, such as Active Directory, Entra ID, SSO, and MFA integrations.
- Design Zero Trust architectures solutions to align with and implement least-privilege access models.
- Integration of security technologies, including SIEM, DLP (Data Loss Prevention), MFA, and identity and access management systems (IAM).
- Design & Implement backup solutions including, disaster recovery, and business continuity strategies for both on-premises and cloud environments.
- Participate in security incident response and develop remediation strategies for identified vulnerabilities.
- Stay up to date with the latest technology trends, services and features, and evaluate their potential benefits to our clients.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proven experience (7+ years) as a Hybrid Solutions Engineer or similar role, with hands-on experience in designing, implementing, and managing both on-premises and cloud solutions.
- In-depth knowledge of Azure/M365 services (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS), including Virtual Machines, Azure App Services, Azure Networking, Storage Accounts, Security Center, Azure AD and M365 environments.
- In-depth knowledge of on-premises infrastructure including Windows Server environments, VMware virtualisation, Hyper-V virtualisation, Backup & Disaster Recovery, SAN storage solutions
- Hands-on experience with security frameworks like NIST, ISO 27001, or CIS Controls
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and experience with CI/CD pipelines for Azure-based deployments.
- Proficiency in scripting and automation using PowerShell, Azure CLI, BASH or other relevant tools.
- Solid understanding of networking concepts, TCP/IP, VPN, VNET, ExpressRoute, and firewall configurations both local and cloud based.
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights.
- Knowledge of identity and access management, role-based access controls (RBAC), and security best practices in Azure.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
- Knowledge of 3rd party tools and how they operate to achieve successful M365 “Tenant to Tenant” migrations (BitTitan, Sharegate, CloudM, Quest, CodeTwo, SkyKick).
- Knowledge of client deployment methods including the use of Autopilot or WDS.
- Vendor certifications such as Microsoft, VMware, HPe and Cisco.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- A passion for continuous learning and self-improvement in the field of cloud computing and related technologies.
